Frequently Asked
Questions Before You Call
Straight answers about estimates, timing, insurance, and how we work.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes — every inspection and written estimate is 100% free with no obligation. We don't charge for the visit, the report, or the estimate. If you decide not to hire us, you keep the documentation and there's no charge.
How soon can you come out?
Most Colorado inspections are scheduled within 2-5 business days of your request. After major hail events the queue is longer — typically 1-3 weeks — but we prioritize active leaks and safety-critical situations. Call us directly at info@wexterior.com if you need same-day emergency tarping or inspection.
Do I need to be home for the inspection?
Not required if we can access the roof and exterior. We'll document everything with photos and email you the report. If we find damage, a follow-up walkthrough where you're present is usually the next step — so we can explain what we found and answer questions.
How long does a written estimate take?
Typically 24-48 hours after the inspection. Insurance-claim estimates take a bit longer (2-4 days) because we build them in Xactimate-compatible line structure to match insurance scopes. You'll get the estimate by email with a line-item breakdown.
Do you help with insurance claims?
Yes. We're experienced with every major Colorado carrier (State Farm, Allstate, USAA, Farmers, American Family, Liberty Mutual, Travelers). We inspect, document damage, work with your adjuster on the scope of loss, and submit supplements when the initial scope misses items. What we don't do is act as a public adjuster — Colorado law (SB38) reserves that role for licensed public adjusters. We handle our lane; you keep control of the claim.
Is your estimate binding?
The estimate is a written price we'll honor for 30 days. The only things that change it are (a) changes you request, or (b) unforeseen conditions during work — like rotten decking discovered during tearoff — which we document and surface before proceeding. No surprises on final invoice.
Do you pull the permit?
Yes — we handle all permit paperwork and scheduling of required inspections with your city or county. Permit fees are a pass-through cost (typically $150-$400 depending on jurisdiction) included in the estimate. Never let any roofer skip the permit — un-permitted work can void insurance and block a future home sale.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance with $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate (with re-roofing coverage included), workers' compensation where applicable, and we register with each Colorado city we serve that requires contractor licensing. Certificate of Insurance available on request, with your property listed as additional insured.
